Jaclyn Mottola is a visual artist based in New York City. Her paintings explore abstraction using muted colors, balanced compositions, and layered texture. Her work and process are inspired by searching for simplicity in her surrounding environment.
Jaclyn, who received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Maryland, challenges the concept of complexity and aims to build subtle compositions that create intense interest and an unexpected sense of harmony and comfort. Her work offers a variety of textures that she achieves by using different tools, like brushes, palette knives, or paint rollers.
